01 — The unexpected start
For years, financial independence was a spreadsheet problem. Save. Invest. Increase income. Repeat. The idea was to make work optional. Eventually.
Then the layoff made it a real decision. My last day is September 30, 2026. Suddenly, “Do I actually need another job?” isn't a hypothetical.
I don't have that answer yet. I'm figuring it out as it happens.
